New Service Could Move Podcasting To The Cloud

This is a preview of Ohm Studio – a new Internet music collaboration platform that looks a bit like GarageBand for the Web.
The promo video is focused on “cloud-based” collaborative music making, but it’s easy to imagine using the same service for podcast creation.
I can’t say it would be all that practical for podcasts. It’s more of an editing tool and would only be useful when there’s more than one person editing the podcast.
What about using something like this to do multi-person shows and interviews?
Skype is a pain and the sound quality isn’t that good.
I think this is almost exactly “GarageBand for the Internet”. And just as that application started just for music and then one of the later versions (I forget which generation started featuring podcasting), so too could this, if people can find a way to do that. I think it will work great.
I would like to see a cloud-based podcast aggregator, allowing you a decent amount of storage for your podcasts and functionality to subscribe, update and sync with your mobile device. That would be cool.
