30 Rock Premieres On The Internet, Has Best Audience Ever
Nov 1st, 2008 | By James Lewin | Category: Internet TV, VideoNBC‘s 30 Rock got series high ratings for its season premiere on Thursday, taking advantage of the buzz surrounding star Tina Fey, whose appearances as Gov. Sarah Palin have proven to be a viral goldmine.
Tina Fey’s recent popularity is turning the status quo of television on it head.
First, Fey’s SNL skits as Sarah Palin had more views online than on television.
Next, NBC debuted 30 Rock’s season premiere online a week before it was shown on television, and the series got its highest ratings ever.
Expect to see NBC and others to pay a lot more attention to generating online buzz.
We’re coming full circle. In the beginning, we used traditional media to promote new media… oh how things have changed.
Thanks
Scott
