Scottish Youth Win National Podcasting Competition
Mar 6th, 2007 | By Elisabeth Lewin | Category: Citizen MediaA group of young people from West Lothian (in Scotland) have won a national podcasting competition.
The Free Ears team’s “Just Listen” podcast is aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues among young people.
The group was selected by judges from Young Scot, BT and Talk 107, and the youngsters will visit the radio station’s studio to air their podcast.
They will also receive their own outside broadcast unit kit.
Free Ears is supported by West Lothian Community Learning and Development Service and a mental health link worker.
Young Scot Podcasting, set up in 2006, encourages youngsters to look at how their peers have made a difference in the community. The Young Scot.org website caters to youth aged 12 – 26.

Excellent work by these youngsters. Not only are they doing so well in the podcast field, but they’re using it for an admirable cause too. Well done to them and to their school.
