New Gadget Lets iPod Users Share Music And More

Sima Products’ Hitch is a new USB sharing accessory that lets iPod users share files on the go – with no computer required.
“You no longer have to use a computer to share files between devices,” said Ilana Diamond, CEO of Sima Products Corporation.
Hitch can connect USB devices such as digital cameras, digital audio/video players, USB flash drives and more. According to Sima, Hitch is compatible with many brands of USB devices, such as Apple, Creative, iRiver, Samsung, Sony, Canon, Nikon, Casio, Olympus, Panasonic, etc.
With a retail cost of $99.95, the Hitch can transfer music, video, photos, documents, and more. The gadget can also charge attached devices during use.
According to Sima, Hitch is currently the only way to share content directly from iPod-to-iPod, and is compliant with all Digital Rights Management (DRM) copy-protection. It lets you select who has permission to use your media.
Hitch is compatible with Mass Storage Devices, Photo Transfer Protocol, and is USB 2.0 High Speed Compliant for fast transfers.
Hitch has a bright white LCD Display and scroll-wheel make navigation smooth. Select single files, entire albums, or the whole collection – the intuitive interface makes sharing files easy. iLounge.com chose Hitch as one of it’s top iPod accessories in their Annual iPod Buyers Guide, lauding the “simple on-screen interface and control scheme.”
Hitch won a 2006 CEA Innovations Award, and has received praise from the press both in print and on the web.
Hitch is available for $99.99 from online retailers such as BestBuy.com, Amazon.com, and ThinkGeek.com.
The idea sounds good, but shouldn’t the iPod integrate data transfer features in future versions? Cowon’s players (X5, for example) come with a USB host port, which can directly connect to other USB devices for data transfer.

I just bought one of these at Best Buy. It really works awesome, and it is very easy to operate. I have had so many times where I’ve been at practice or at school, and wanted a new song one of my friends had on their player. This makes it so easy and fast. My brother thinks it will work great with videos too.
I bought the device, and I can not get the device to accept my video iPod? It will not accept it on either the here or there side. When I plug it in, it reads reading data, then auto cuts self off. I have no trouble transfering with putting the reg iPod in, and transfering to my video. Any suggestions, ideas? Need help, or will take back!
I bought the Hitch to use it to transfer photos from CF card to my I Pod, so that I can free up card space without having to use a laptop. The transfer is successful. The I Pod receives the photos and I can subsequently transfer them to my desktop. But my problem is that I can not see the photos in the I pod, so I will never be 100% sure they are there before erasing the CF card.
Is there somebody that has had the same problem and found a way to solve it?

i dont like this product, after i used it for music transfer
for less than 200 songs the screen of the product is getting
to blurry, cant even read what it says on the screen alhough still working but cannot see anything on the screen, haven’t tried it yet to transfer video.
I purchased this gadget to transfer files on a Creative Zen Sleek Photo player, which is explicitly listed as a supported device on the gethitch.com website. It won’t recognize the Zen, it already has a newer firmware than the one on their website, and there is NO SUPPORT or CONTACT info on the site. STAY AWAY FROM THIS P.o.S. !
