Makayama Interactive has released version 3.0 of iPod Media Studio, an application that streamlines copying video or DVDs to iPods.
The upgraded software supports new video formats, such as Youtube content and subtitles are rendered much faster then before. Windows Media files (wmv and dvr-ms) and Flash video, such as Youtube content, may now be converted.
The software provides a menu shortcut to websites that allow downloading of Youtube content and videos from Altavista. The downloaded video can then be converted to the iPod.
The DVD engine has also been improved. Subtitled DVDs can now be converted at three times the speed of the previous version, and a new rendering engine can display subtitles more sharply on the screen, improving readability.
The software runs on Windows XP/2000/NT/Vista. A free demo version is available. Registered users may upgrade for free.
