Mac OS X Catching Up With Windows 2000
Nov 5th, 2006 | By James Lewin | Category: Computer HardwareThe percent of computers accessing the Internet that are running Macintosh OS X is up by 35% since last year, according to figures from Market Share.
5.21% of the computers accessing the Internet were Macs in October, compared to 3.87% a year ago.
While these numbers are good news for OS X fans, Macs still trail PCs running Microsoft’s 7-year old operating system Windows 2000. Computers running 2000 account for 5.79%, while XP accounts for 84.62%.

That’s a laughable comparison. And it’s no surprise. Of course there are more Windows 2000 users than Mac OS X, it’s consistent with the entire installed Windows user base. What’s the point of bringing it up?
