Divvycast Hopes To Match Musicians and Advertisers

Oct 4th, 2006 | By | Category: Audio Podcasting, Making Money with Podcasts, Podcast Hosting

Seattle-based Divvycast this week unveiled a podcasting portal dedicated to “connecting musicians with advertisers.”

Divvycast lets musicians create and upload podcasts and gain sponsorship from interested advertisers. Musicians can generate income by posting these podcasts with the top podcast aggregators and social networking sites across the internet. Through music clips, live concert recordings, and interviews, artists can reach fans through Divvycast, using it as a forum to promote their latest album release or concert dates.

Divvycast offers three subscription tiers, ranging from $10 – $30/month (or $100 – $300/year).

Monthly subscribers get a free copy of the ePodcast Creator Lite (PC) or ePodcast Express (Mac) plus storage and bandwidth; a yearly subscription nets you a copy of ePodcast Creator or ePodcast Producer.

Musicians can also upload buttons or banners which can be linked to their podcasts and posted on various social-networking sites like MySpace and TagWorld. Additionally, Divvycast provides direct links to various podcast aggregators such as iTunes and Yahoo! Podcasts where they can submit their podcast RSS feeds.

Bobby McFarland, co-founder of Divvycast, said, “For musicians, Divvycast enables them to connect with fans in a much more intimate and dynamic setting while generating advertising revenue. For advertisers, Divvycast provides the perfect opportunity to connect with their target audience and distribute their message through the most popular internet destinations on the Web. It’s a natural fit.”

Just what we’ve been looking for! Way cool. For small bucks we can get out there and maybe make some change. Good stuff. Works smooth as snot on a glass doornob.

I’ve investigated this further, and I like the advertising angle, easy posting. I’m no website wiz and this looks like fine avenue for getting wide exposure. Haven’t signed up yet. Maybe tonight.

We closed comments on this post, because the post was getting spammed with tons of gushy fake praise, like Tina Dengler’s comment above, which happens to link to the Divvycast site.

There were also three different usernames from the IP 59.95.161.131 that posted fake gushy comments within a short period of time.

Looks like there are some spammers promoting divvycast.
