Bold and the Beautiful Star to Host Vloggies

McVicar will host host the Vloggies, an award show for the rising stars of new media held in San Francisco on November 4th, with the event’s coordinator, Irina Slutsky of GeekEntertainment.tv.
McVicar, while best known for his appearances on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful- and ‘The
Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, is also the creator and host of The McVlog video blog.
The Vloggies award excellence in video blogging, with winners decided by both a panel of judges and the votes of online viewers. Awards will be given in categories such as Best Vlog, Best Female Vlogger, Best Male Vlogger, and Best Online Tools, which recognizes the creation of helpful technology.
This will be the first Vloggies ceremony. The awards were created in response to the explosion of original online video content.
Several standout vlogs or video podcasts, such as Rocketboom & TheShow with Ze Frank, attract thousands of viewers.
“I started vlogging to be part of this new media wave, and it’s exciting,” notes McVicar. “I look forward to helping recognize some extraordinary work that’s being done in this form.”
The Vloggies ceremony will be held at San Francisco’s Swedish American Hall. Sponsors of the event include leading video-hosting websites Revver.com, Blip.tv, and PodTech.net.
