Sep 10th, 2006 | By James Lewin | Category: Podcasting EventsGuest Report by John Wall
PodCamp Boston, a free ad-hoc gathering of people interested in podcasting is underway at Bunker Hill Community College, just north of Boston in Charlestown.. The event, being held Sept 9-10, 2006, is an informal get together where people can organize discussions on any podcasting topic they are interested in.
Day 1 of podcamp has been a complete success, with more than 4 tracks of sessions and breakout groups running thoughout the day. Sessions covered everything from podcasting as a hobby to using podcasts for PR and corporate communications.
With well over 240 registrants and what appears to be around 200 attendees the event is very dynamic and filled with networking, education, and even live music. Attendees have come from as far away as the UK, and Natick, Mass.
Details on the schedule of events can be found at the PodCamp site.
CNet’s David Berlind talked about the audio gear he uses, resulting in many breakout sessions on everything from Mics to phone recording.
David Tames of ArtFilm Talk, covered audio and video recording, showing off a jaw-dropping assortment of both gear and talent.
Like any unconference the informal sessions are all the rage including sessions at Harvard’s Berkman Center on Friday and Dinner at the Grand Canal tonight.
More info from Day 2 of podcamp as it happens.
The PodCamp blog also has video of some of the events.
John Wall, right, is the host of The M Show podcast, “Ten Minutes of News, Talk and Entertainment.”
There were attendees from Western Massachusetts as well. I myself attended this even and I am from West Springfield. And let’s not forget the Canadians that attended.
It was great meeting you all! Let’s look forward for the next PodCamp!
