Aug 13th, 2006 | By James Lewin | Category: Corporate Podcasts, Video PodcastsHBO has released one of its original documentary films, the cautionary Too Hot To Handle, in its entirety as a free podcast. The documentary, which offers a guide to the effects of global warming in the United States, is available as a four-part download.
Too Hot To Handle features contributions from leading scientists in the field, including in-depth discussions of such subjects as the greenhouse effect, hurricanes, snowpack, hybrid vehicles and alternative power sources – showing how businesses, local governments and citizens are taking positive actions to reduce global warming emissions.
Over the past century, consumption of carbon dioxide-emitting fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) has risen to staggering levels, especially in the United States, where five percent of the world’s population is responsible for 25 percent of the world’s carbon dioxide emissions. Too Hot To Handle offers evidence that the greenhouse effect is intensifying and the Earth is now warming faster than at any other time in human history. This newest podcast joins existing HBO podcasts, including video and audio clips for “Entourage,” “Deadwood,” “Lucky Louie,” “Dane Cook’s Tourgasm,” “The Sopranos, “Rome,” “Big Love,” “Real Time with Bill Maher” and select HBO Films, sports shows, HBO Latino’s “Habla y Habla,” and other HBO documentary films.
