Alexa charts traffic to Internet sites based on the activity of users of the Alexa toolbar.

There are two clear spikes in the graph. The first occured when Congdon made her announcement, which led to a flurry of coverage. The second occured with viewers tuning in to check out Congdon’s replacement, interim host Joanne Colan.

It’s too early to tell if the huge spike will translate into permanent growth for the site, but traffic from the last week suggest that interest in the site is returning to earlier levels.
