Metallica

Metallica, one of the most visible holdouts in the world of digital music, is now in the iTunes Music Store.

Metallica famously sued Napster and asked that hundreds of Napster users that had been trading Metallica songs on the network be banned. Metallica’s Lars Ulrich also provided a statement to the US Senate on the issue of copyright infringement in 2000.The band ultimately settled with Napster, which resulted in many Napster users being blocked from the site.

Metallica and The Beatles have been two of the highest profile bands that have resisted selling their work via iTunes.
