Yahoo! Maps on iPods
May 15th, 2006 | By James Lewin | Category: General, iPods & Portable Media PlayersA new service, iPod Directions, lets iPod users put maps and directions on their iPods.
The site, described as a “directions saving tool,” exports online driving directions from Yahoo! Maps and imports them to your iPod.
How it works:
- Enter your starting and destination address in the online form.
- Click “Verify Directions” to view and check driving directions.
- Click “Get Directions” and the website will prompt you to download a ZIP file that contains your driving directions.
- Extract the ZIP file to your iTunes Photo Folder and sync your iPod.
The process of downloading and copying the files to your iPod is straightforward, though it’s not automated.
